IICA South Australia branch to host free technical night

IICA (Institute of Instrumentation, Control and Automation)
Thursday, 12 June, 2014

The South Australian branch of the Institute of Instrumentation, Control and Automation (IICA) is holding a free technical night on 25 June in Adelaide.

Two case studies will be presented on the evening, with opportunities for networking after the presentations.

Andrew Taylor, principal consultant at Apex Optimisation, will present a case study on advanced process control in LNG production. Taylor will outline the development of a multivariable predictive control application on an LNG train in north-western Australia. Some background on the impetus for this advanced process control technique will be covered, including some details of the results achieved.

SAGE Automation’s Damian Jolly will deliver a presentation entitled ‘Using manufacturing KPIs in oil and gas to improve throughput’. The presentation takes the concept of a modified OEE (overall equipment effectiveness) used in the manufacturing packaging sector to highlight constraints in flow and improve input, applying it to the oil and gas sector with an example for LNG.

Only 30 places are available for the technical night, so registration is essential. To register, click here.
