HazardsAPS 2013 abstract deadline extended
IChemE, the Institution of Chemical Engineers, has extended the deadline for abstracts for the second Hazards Asia Pacific Symposium 2013. The new deadline is Monday 3 September 2012.
Commencing on 16 April 2013, the three-day conference is expected to attract about 400 delegates. PETRONAS has been confirmed as the lead industry partner; Tsinghua University will be the lead academic partner. The ABB-sponsored event will be held at the Crowne Plaza Mutiara in Kuala Lumpur.
Judith Hackitt, chair of the Great Britain Health and Safety Executive and deputy IChemE president, and Hans Schwarz, BASF global head of safety, are two of the keynote speakers.
“Our first Hazards process safety conference in Malaysia last year was a big success and we will build upon that event for 2013,” said IChemE CEO David Brown. “Every chemical and process engineer should have a good understanding of process safety regardless of job role and sector and we’re looking forward to working with the Chemical Industries Council of Malaysia on the event.”

- Process safety design and analysis
- Management of abnormal operations
