Grundfos Pumps recall selected JPRain, JPB and NSB product

Tuesday, 31 August, 2010

Grundfos Pumps has recently issued a recall on selected JP Rain, JPB and NSB product sold within Australia. In a small percentage of these products, the wires in the terminal box are pinched under the terminal box lids, which may result in an electrical short or an earth leakage trip.

Kevin Stiles, Product Manager for domestic building services in Australia and New Zealand, said, “Although we have only been made aware of a very small number of pumps with this problem, we feel that it is important to err on the side of caution and recall products sold from 1 January 2010 until August 2010.”

Affected pumps can be identified by the production codes located on the product label on the pump’s terminal box. Production codes are N1 0945 to N1 1027 inclusive.

If you have a JP Rain, JPB or NSB pump with production codes within this range, you are advised to disconnect the pump from the power source and contact Grundfos or an Authorised Grundfos Dealer.

The pump unit should not be touched before being disconnected from the power source.

Grundfos is contacting owners directly according to name and address information held by its Authorised Dealer Network. Product recall notices have been placed in major newspapers around the country, and a recall team has been established.

If you require any further information about the recall, please contact the recall team by phone on 1300 260 630 or email them at spares-au@grundfos.com. For information on all Australian product recalls, see www.recalls.gov.au.
