Engineering awards 2005

Tuesday, 05 April, 2005

The Maintenance Engineering Society of Australia (MESA), a technical society of Engineers Australia (EA), has broadened the scope of its annual awards to recognise excellence in asset management at an enterprise level.

MESA has chosen to expand the program in 2005 in recognition of the growing understanding of asset management and maintenance engineering and the role it plays in Australian industry.

Three extra classes of award take to four the number of grades against which organisations can be judged. These enterprise awards are complemented by two others which recognise individual achievement.

Platinum, gold, silver and bronze awards will be made against seven criteria to organisations achieving the highest standards in asset management and maintenance engineering.

Technical director of MESA, Jim Kennedy says: "The purpose of the AMEEA program is to promote excellence in Australian asset management and maintenance engineering and provide a tool through which Australian enterprises can evaluate their asset management and maintenance practices."

The AMEEA awards will be presented at the MESA International Conference of Maintenance Societies (ICOMS) 2005 dinner in May in Hobart.
