Energy management technology and services company Energy Action Limited has announced that it can continue to offer government funding opportunities available to new and existing eligible business clients in NSW to assist them towards achieving significant energy savings and efficiencies.

Through the Energy Saver Scheme, an initiative of the NSW State Government administered by the Office of Environment and Heritage (OEH), Energy Action can facilitate funding towards 50% of an energy audit or review (up to $25,000 in funding), with the provision of up to $10,000 towards expert consultancy to assist with the implementation of identified opportunities.

The scheme also has provision for funding post implementation for project monitoring to ensure that outcomes are achieved.

In order to be eligible for this funding, applicable for existing (not greenfield) sites located in NSW, businesses must have a site electricity spend of over $80,000 per annum. The project and associated funding must also include target technologies associated with electricity uses, with the exception of lighting.

Accredited by the OEH’s Energy Saver panel, by utilising this funding Energy Action has identified significant savings for clients, most notably for a private hospital and large shopping centre.

In the areas of HVAC and equipment, Energy Action’s audit identified cumulative potential energy-saving measures of $105,000 per annum for the two sites, with payback periods of under two years. Further life cycle and longer payback opportunities increased these potential savings to in excess of $400,000 per annum.

Commenting on this panel, Energy Action Solutions Director Paul Cooper stated: “As one of Australia’s leading providers of end-to-end energy procurement and management services, Energy Action is proud to be involved in this initiative with the NSW Government and the OEH.

“This funding provides a compelling opportunity for eligible participants to undertake a subsidised energy audit that may identify significant savings and efficiencies, and with ongoing support for implementation and monitoring.

“I encourage any eligible business or organisation in NSW to talk to Energy Action about how they might take advantage of this opportunity while the early incentive for this funding is still available.”
