Duratec awarded a construction management contract for Orica hydrogen hub

Australian engineering, construction and remediation contractor Duratec Limited has announced it has been awarded a construction management contract at Orica’s Hunter Valley Hydrogen Hub, alongside three additional contract awards across its core energy, marine, mining and industrial sectors. The four contract awards represent a combined value of approximately $70 million.

The company says the Orica contract represents a key step in Duratec’s expansion into future energy and fuel infrastructure markets, positioning it to support the broader energy transition and decarbonisation of industrial operations. The award leverages Duratec’s recent acquisitions in the Hunter Region, which establishes a local workforce, supply chain access and delivery capability in a critical energy corridor, enhancing the Group’s ability to self-perform and capture greater value across the project lifecycle.

In addition to the Orica contract, Duratec has secured the Gove Structural Integrity Remediation Services project at Rio Tinto’s bauxite export facilities in Nhulunbuy, Northern Territory, as well as contracts for Perth Airport and Fremantle Ports at Kwinana.
