CCIWA CEO to chair AOG plenary session
Deidre Willmott, the recently appointed CEO of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry WA, will chair the plenary session at this week’s Australasian Oil and Gas (AOG) Exhibition and Conference.
“Harnessing the benefits of the oil and gas sector is going to be critical for the future success of the WA economy and the WA business community. Research, technology, world-class service providers and an efficient regulatory framework are all vital to maintaining Western Australia’s position as a global centre in the multibillion-dollar oil and gas industry,” said Willmott.
The plenary session will feature a number of high-profile speakers, including:
- The Hon Bill Marmion, WA Minister for Mines and Petroleum
- Andrew Smith, Country Chair Australia, Shell
- Gerry Flaherty, General Manager, Asset Development, Chevron Australia
Marmion will open the morning session on Wednesday 19 February, discussing how industry and government can work together to cut green and red tape, improve productivity and address skills shortages. Smith will offer an Australian industry perspective following Marmion’s presentation.
Flaherty will discuss Chevron’s technology solutions, including those developed by its Global Technology Centre (GTC).
The AOG event runs from 19 to 21 February and will feature more than 150 speakers across 15 different conference streams.
