Calling humanitarian engineers: applications for EWB placements open

Engineers Without Borders (EWB) Australia has announced that 10 new humanitarian engineering placements are available in East Timor and Cambodia. Applications for the positions are open until 16 September.

A range of opportunities are available, from water and sanitation advisors to renewable-energy course developers and computer science support. Successful applicants will undertake pre-departure training prior to arriving in the country in January 2013.

EWB says it is seeking established and emerging professionals who are looking to challenge themselves, take the next step in their career and use their skills to do life-changing work.

Positions in other countries such as Nepal, India and Vietnam will be advertised in March 2013. Roles for Field Placement Buddies are also available. Buddies are located in Australia and are responsible for supporting field volunteers, sharing their experiences and connecting them to the EWB community. These positions are suitable for those wanting to get involved who are unable to commit to 12 months overseas.
