AOG doubles previous successes
The 2009 Australasian Oil and Gas Expo was a great success, attracting more than double the number of visitors to the 2007 show, according to event organisers Diversified Exhibitions.
Hosted over three days at Perth Convention Exhibition Centre in mid-February, the event was the largest petroleum exhibition ever held in the Southern Hemisphere and featured more than 80 overseas exhibitors including international groups from the US, the UK and Norway.
“We are thrilled to report that AOG 2009 was an outstanding success with record-breaking efforts across all facets of the exhibition. Our visitor numbers were especially pleasing — up more than 100%, which demonstrates that despite the current economic downturn, interest in the oil and gas industry is still strong,” said Bill Hare, Exhibition Director, Diversified Exhibitions.
The show attracted 7784 visitors this year, compared to 3699 in 2007, with 7% of visitors from overseas and 5% from interstate. Exhibitor numbers grew 65% to 364.
A biennial event for the last 25 years, the Australasian Oil & Gas Exhibition will now be held every year, with the 2010 event scheduled for 24–26 March 2010.
