Advantech has announced a partnership with McAfee to distribute their OEM Embedded McAfee security solutions for solution partners that embed security into their final product.

“McAfee anticipates an explosion of non-traditional IP-enabled devices connecting to the internet, says Gavin Struthers, VP Channels, Alliances and Specialist Sales for APAC. “These devices will need protection from an ever-escalating volume and sophistication of threats.”

McAfee chose Advantech as its Australian OEM Embedded Distribution partner because of the unique synergy between their Embedded McAfee Control solution and Advantech’s embedded system hardware.

“The McAfee solution will provide improved security and maintain high data integrity for our embedded solution customers,” said Santo Gazzo, General Manager of Advantech Australia. “The unique feature of Embedded McAfee Control is that it only allows authorised code to run and only authorised changes to be made, without the need for regular virus definition updates.

“It’s the security solution that the market needed,” added Gazzo, “especially as more and more embedded devices connect to the internet and become vulnerable to attack.”
