ABB appoints new country manager for Australia
ABB has announced that Axel Kuhr has been appointed as Country Manager for ABB in Australia effective 1 June 2010. Axel replaces John Gaskell, who retired from ABB at the end of May 2010.
Axel is a German citizen and holds Mechanical Engineering degrees from Germany and the United Kingdom. Axel is based at the ABB Australia headquarters in Sydney’s CBD.
Axel joined ABB in 1991 and has held a number of significant management roles within ABB’s power generation, and transmission and distribution businesses in Switzerland and Germany. Most recently, Axel headed the ABB Group Account Management Program, based at the ABB headquarters in Zurich, which focuses on sharpening customer orientation through a strong, unified emphasis on the global value-proposition, and which produced considerable growth for the key accounts.
“I am honoured to become ABB’s country manager in Australia,” Axel said. “I am dedicated to serve our customers in their efforts to increase energy efficiency and industrial productivity. I look forward to leading the team of ABB Australia through a new growth cycle, and to utilising the entire value-proposition of ABB to serve our core industries.”
