Gas analyser

Group Electronics has released a sophisticated five gas emission analyser, suitable for the emission control and monitoring of petrol and gas powered engines.

The analyser is equipped with a non-dispersive infrared (NDIR) optical bench for monitoring hydrocarbons (0-9995 ppm) n-hexane volume; carbon monoxide (0-9.95% volume); carbon dioxide (0-23% volume).

The measurement of oxygen (0-23% volume) and nitric oxides (0-4995 ppm volume) is achieved by the use of highly efficient and long life fuel cells.

The P550 analyser is function controlled by Windows-based software, which enables the production of a sequence of digital and graphical displays shown on a large format, backlit, liquid display.

The response time of the analyser with a standard sample line is less than 11 seconds to 95% of final readings, with the automatic compensation of zero drift.

The unit is software configured to produce both Lambda and Air-Fuel Ratio (AFR) calculations in the recognised ratios set by industry standards.

The use of either control method will place a screen highlight bar over a selected menu option, which can be immediately operated, to progress or edit the system. Additional RS 232 and RS 484 communication facilities provide for the downloading of acquired data to remote facilities such as a remote PC, printer or database storage.

The resultant hard copy can be shown either as a numeric or graphical display, which may be optimised to either line or bargraph format.

The analyser is approved as an OIML Class 1 Emission Analyser and analyses the gas ranges required by this approval standard.
