A strong track record and a modern and robust design are the key features of Tenix's bid for Project SEA 1444, Replacement Patrol Boats, which it launched in Canberra recently.

Project SEA 1444 will replace the Royal Australian Navy's existing Fremantle Class Patrol Boats to meet the evolving requirements of an offshore patrol and response force. Tenix is one of the three companies shortlisted to tender for the contract.

Tenix is proposing to build the vessels in Henderson, near Perth, using suppliers from across the country thus providing economic and employment opportunities to all Australian states.

Since 1986, Tenix has designed, built and delivered 35 patrol boats and currently manages the support of 22 of these. A further six are under construction, within budget and on schedule.

Tenix is proposing a patrol boat design enhanced from the proven 56 m Philippines Search and Rescue vessels, a sixth-generation evolution of a successful build program.

The Tenix design has been verified and tested through the Marine Research Institute of the Netherlands, the world's most comprehensive and experienced testing facility.
