Siemens WinCC V13 TIA Portal

Plant operations are best positioned to maintain automated processes via effective HMIs. Common look and feel of visualisation from local machine control up to the supervisory layer is most important for consistent system useability. The Simatic TIA Portal makes it possible to see an entire automation system from one platform. Totally integrated automation (TIA) maximises both engineering efficiency and control system transparency.

WinCC V13 is the engineering system in the TIA Portal, allowing good visualisation for all current Simatic HMI panels and PC systems. Simatic WinCC V13 allows visualisation of HMI run-time stations for both single user and multi-user systems.

WinCC V13 not only provides good interplay between Step 7 V13 and S7-1200 and S7-1500 control systems, but also with S7 controllers configured with Step 7 Prof 2010. The V13 ‘device proxy’ allows the integration of newer Simatic HMI options, regardless of the S7 controller configuration software used.

For additional system diagnostics in WinCC V13, the PLC code viewer enables the status of controller function blocks (S7-1200/1500) to be represented in the supervisory layer. This means system malfunctions can be easily traced by operational staff. Such supervisory systems can also be made highly available via primary/standby servers with the redundancy option.

Wide-screen support across the entire HMI range with WinCC V13 provides up to 40% more display area compared to traditional devices with 4:3 aspect ratio.
