The LSB200 from Futek Advanced Sensor Technology is able to measure compression and tensile forces in the range of 10 g to 45 kg (444 Newtons). The miniature size and broad capacity range make this model suitable for applications in industries such as medical, aerospace, robotics, process control and pharmaceutical.
Whether an engineer selects the 10 g capacity or the 45 kg (444 Newtons) model, the dimension of the S-Beam Jr remains the same. This is critical for system integrators as they can easily switch from one capacity to the next and not have to worry about changing their application design to account for various sensor sizes.
The load cell is protected from accidental overloads by integrating an overload protection feature into the actual part. In the past, companies would use pins or bolts to stop a sensor from overloading, which proved to be time sensitive and technician dependent. Since Futek has integrated the overload stop directly into the sensor, overload protection has become more repeatable and reliable without the need of a secondary component. The S-Beam Jr offers 1000% of rated output on capacities of 10 g to 11 kg in both tension and compression.
