The Aaeon AEC-6638 multicore embedded controller is a high-performance standalone embedded PC featuring -15 to +55°C operating temperatures, fanless operation, compact size and robust construction.

The AEC-6638 is based on the 4th generation Intel Core i5-4400E 2.7 GHz or i3-4100E 2.4 GHz processor and is equipped with one SODIMM socket supporting up to 8 GB of DDR3L system memory, two Gigabit RJ45 Ethernet connectors, two USB 3.0 ports, two USB 2.0 ports, two RS232 ports and one RS232/422/485 port for communication.

A 2.5″ SATA hard drive can be internally mounted for operating system and data storage or alternatively a CFast slot provides support for the next-generation Compact Flash storage cards. System expansion is possible via a Mini-PCIe card slot allowing a Wi-Fi or Bluetooth card to be installed, while the onboard Intel HD graphics engine provides a VGA, DVI-D and HDMI output for high-resolution displays.

The AEC-6638 requires a 9-30 VDC power source for normal operation. An optional 100-240 VAC power pack is also available.
