Low-torque rotary air connectors

Sunday, 01 June, 2008 | Supplied by: SMC Australia | New Zealand

With the current trend for automation systems to include operations involving rotary transfer of air and fluids, SMC Pneumatics has addressed the problems of tube rotation with its range of MQR rotary joints.

Accommodating up to 12 connections, the low-maintenance joints with their copper-free construction combine metal sealing in the rotation and slip area and NBR material in the joints, allowing rotation movements to take place with extremely low rotational torque.

The MQR can operate with a rotational frequency of up to 2000 rotations/min, with a life expectancy of between one hundred million and one billion cycles.
