Innovative control solutions at Auspack 2009

Monday, 20 April, 2009

Industrial automation leader Rockwell Automation will be showcasing its scalable solutions for the packaging industry at Auspack 2009, to be held in Sydney 16 to 19 June.

A smart-belt conveyor machine will be used to demonstrate the company's integrated motion control solutions, where a single controller can replace the functionality of a separate motion and logic controller.

The same machine will also highlight Rockwell Automation's distributed 'On-Machine' architecture, which moves industrials controls and hardware — such as drives, I/O modules and motorstarters — out of remote cabinets and closer to the application.

The On-Machine solutions are made possible with IP67 enclosure rating and quick-disconnect wiring systems. Distributed architecture simplifies machine design and allows for better diagnostics and easier part change-out.

Machinery Automation & Robotics (MAR) will co-exhibit with Rockwell Automation at Auspack. MAR designs, builds and integrates automated manufacturing and industrial solutions incorporating advanced robotics.

At this year's exhibition, MAR will showcase an interactive robotic system where visitors can put their skills to the test and compete for a prize.
