AML3D attains AS9100D accreditation for aerospace parts

Australian company AML3D has announced it has received Aerospace Quality Management System, AS9100D:2016 accreditation (AS9100D), certifying that the company operates to the highest standards of quality, safety and reliability within the aerospace industry.

The company says the accreditation will allow AML3D to manufacture both flight and non-flight components certified for the aviation, space and defence sector, the company said in an ASX announcement.

The attainment of AS9100D places AML3D in an elite category, as only the second wire-arc additive manufacturing company globally to receive this accreditation, and provides AML3D with a significant competitive edge in securing aerospace and defence contracts.

By consistently exceeding customer, statutory and regulatory requirements for aerospace applications, AML3D’s advanced manufacturing solutions demonstrate unparalleled performance levels.

“Having the ambition to target and then achieve AS9100D accreditation is a significant milestone for AML3D and is a great credit to the talent, expertise and dedication of our people,” said Sean Ebert, CEO of AML3D. “It demonstrates our ability to deliver the highest quality components into the aviation, space and defence sectors; enhances our credibility and reputation as a leading provider of advanced additive manufacturing solutions.”

He highlighted the success of the company’s US scale-up strategy, which yielded over $12 million in orders in 2023, and underscored the pivotal role of AS9100D in expanding into key aerospace and defence sectors globally.
