The dual function FS10i flow switch/monitor from Fluid Components International (FCI) is particularly useful in air flow safety-related applications such as industrial ovens and furnaces because of its low flow detection and repeatability, with no-moving-parts reliability.

The FS10i provides both a relay output for low flow trip point detection and a continuous 4–20 mA flow monitoring output. It operates over a wide flow range from 0.076 to 122 MPS. Repeatability is ±0.5% of reading, and it is designed for simple insertion into 13 mm or larger diameter venting pipes and square ducts.

The FS10i is fast responding and highly repeatable with both increasing and decreasing changes in flow rate, and is designed for long life with no routine maintenance in rugged industrial plant environments. It operates in measured air temperatures up to 121°C and at pressures up to 138 bar. The electronics are contained in a stainless steel body and protected aluminium end cap which carries IP65/66/67 protection ratings.

The FS10i has obtained agency approvals that include: FM and FMc for nonincendive, Class I, Division 2, Groups A, B, C, D; Class II, Division 2 Groups E, F, G; Class III, T4@Ta=71°C; ATEX, IECeX nonincendive for gas and dust, Zone 2; EAC (TRCU) Russia, II 3 G Ex nA IIC T4 Gc, II 3 D Ex tc IIIC T81°C Dc, IP64.
