  • Samtec AccliMate sealed ethernet cable plug and receptacle system
    Samtec has recently expanded its line of sealed interconnect systems with the AccliMate sealed rectangular ethernet cable plug and receptacle. The system is designed for industrial and other harsh environments with a silicon seal that meets IP68 specifications for dust and waterproof sealing.

  • Turck explosion-proof minifast receptacles
    Turck has announced 1″-16UN and 1-1/8″-16UN minifast explosion-proof, feed-through receptacles, which install directly into standard 3/4″ conduit entries without requiring additional conduit or poured seals. These quick-disconnect B-size (1″) and C-size (1-1/8″) receptacles expedite installation while maintaining the explosion-proof ratings of instrument housings and explosion-proof enclosures in Class I, Division 2 hazardous areas.
  • Turck IMS interface modules
    Turck has announced that its IMS interface modules are now UL certified for Class I, Division 2, Groups A, B, C and D hazardous locations. The 6.2 mm wide IMS modules provide complete galvanic isolation, resisting electrical interference and noise in busy plant environments, with signal conditioning for new or retrofit hazardous area installations.

    Belden has introduced PowerCinch, a modular power distribution and motor control connection system for machinery applications that has been developed under the Lumberg Automation brand.
  • Turck 7/8-16UN explosion-proof feed-through receptacle
    The 7/8-16UN minifast explosion-proof feed-through receptacle is CSA certified as a secondary conduit seal. This quick-disconnect solution can serve as a secondary conduit seal to prevent gas migration or as a boundary seal, when used with a Turck CSA certified cordset. The receptacle may be applied in Class I, Division 2 locations without the use of intrinsically safe circuits or in Class I, Division 1 locations with intrinsically safe circuits.
  • Turck BL Compact modular I/O system
    Turck’s BL Compact system is a modular I/O solution for collecting a variety of signals in a single, rugged node on a network. Rather than routing all signals through a control cabinet, this device makes it possible to obtain analog, digital, thermocouple, RTD, serial, RFID or a mixture of signal types in a compact, on-the-machine device over DeviceNet, CANopen and Profibus-DP.
  • Power connectors
    Turck has announced the A-Size 3- and 4-pin 7/8 16UN powerfast connectors, providing up to 600 V and 15 A of power in a time-saving, modular wiring design. These IP67-rated connectors are manufactured to handle high current applications for machine power distribution, while delivering resistance to vibration commonly associated with conveyors, motors and material handling applications.
  • Modular docking connector system
    The Han-Modular system now allows ‘blind’ insertion by automatic processes. The newly developed docking frame makes it possible to set up a modular docking connector without a housing. This allows the modular system to be used in insertion processes that are not hand-guided. With Han-Modular, users can select and assemble their customised connectors themselves.
  • Quick disconnect sensor-cordset combination
    Turck has expanded its range of FM approved 12, 18 and 30 mm 3-wire DC barrel sensor and cordset combinations. Now, quick disconnect sensors may be used in Class I, Division 2, Groups A, B, C and D environments when equipped with a Turk lokfast guard. Turck sensors with potted-in cable for use with conduit are also FM approved for these locations.
  • Shielded cordsets
    Turck is now offering the option to completely shield M8 picofast cordsets by connecting a braided shield directly to the coupling nut. This provides a cost-effective and reliable connection with 100% cable and connector shielding, which protects against electromagnetic and radio frequency interference.
  • IP68 snap connectors
    Switchcraft has expanded its EN3 range with moulded cord and inline connectors that mate by ‘snapping’ together.
  • 19-pin connectors
    Turck has expanded its 28.6 mm minifast connector line with the addition of the 19-pin connector. The 19-pin minifast connector is rated for up to 300 V, 4 A per pin, and is a solution for applications requiring an even more robust, cost-effective solution than a traditional 19-pin M23 connector — including material handling in manufacturing and packaging applications.
  • S12 connectors
    The 4- and 5-wire S12 Quick-Connect connectors are designed to expedite installation and mate to any fully threaded M12 on the market, regardless of the manufacturer. These connectors employ advanced technology to simply attach to and detach from any M12 connection — and users can clearly hear and feel the click of the S12 Quick-Connect to know that it is fully attached. Using the S12 Quick-Connect provides a cost-effective method for component installation, including connecting numerous junction boxes where installation time can be reduced by 85%.
  • Food-safe stainless steel connectors

  • ATEX approved in line junction boxes
    Synatel has introduced a range of low cost ATEX approved in line junction boxes with five way connectors. Designated the Synatex range, the Synatex connectors are certified for 1D use making them suitable for use in continuous hazard (zone 20) applications.
  • Simple device integration of data, power and signal interfaces
    The type series of the Han PushPull connector system (variant 14 according to IEC/PAS 61076-3-117) has been extended by a complete range of metal bulkhead hoods which are used for the transmission of optical and electrical signals.

    Rockwell Automation has extended its Allen-Bradley IEC terminal block range with the addition of new models to target faster installation, increased installation flexibility and panel space savings. The range expansion encompasses the 1492-J series of screw terminal blocks and the 1492-L suite of spring-clamp variants, as well as coloured and interlinked terminal block markers.
  • Fieldbus junction bricks
    The JRBS junction bricks for Foundation Fieldbus provide quick and easy connection of multiple devices to the main fieldbus trunk. JRBS junction bricks are available with 4, 6, 8, 10 or 12 ports and feature removable terminals for simple, efficient installation and wiring modification in tight spaces.
  • Rotating connectors
    Mercotac rotating connectors use a design principle unlike the sliding, brush contact of a slip ring. The connection is made through a pool of liquid metal molecularly bonded to the contact, which provides a low-resistance, stable connection.

    Turck has released an 8-pin M12 eurofast connector designed specifically for use with Kübler incremental encoders. These encoders are typically used in strenuous factory applications such as material handling, conveyors systems, process control and web control. The E-WKC 8T-PX3-930-* was designed to provide quick and easy connectivity in these demanding environments.

    Parker Instrumentation has extended its range of 'push-fit' fluid connectors for high-pressure industrial applications, adding eight new variants to allow the 20,000 psi (1,379 bar)-rated connector to be used on larger metric and imperial tubing sizes of 14, 16, 18, 20, 22 and 25 mm, and ¾ and 1".

  • IDC-based power connection
    The FieldPower product concept is based on the PowerBox, which is used to contact 5-pole power cables ranging from 2.5 to 6 mm2. The PowerBox integrates the following functions in a single module: power supply, extension, outgoing motor feeder and distribution. The PowerBox is mounted at any point within the plant with the continuous, uncut cable placed inside. Thanks to colour coding this is done quickly and without errors. Round and/or flat cables can be utilised. Using a sheath stripping tool, the cables are partially stripped and the individual cores are placed into the base module of the connection block and the contact unit snapped shut. Using a screwdriver, the contact element is simply closed downwards in a 90° movement. This creates a safe and reliable contact for distributing 400 V of power. The connection is made utilising IDC connection technology.
