Training Workshops

Over the past 5 years the regional roadshow's training sessions have been attended by 1000's of engineering professionals, but now it's time for a revamp. This September sees a major revision of the sessions, with new content and session style incorporating some of the very latest PC based remote access and process control technologies.

NEW - Practical, mini-lab sessions

Our training partner, IDC Technologies, has spiced up the educational sessions with a series of mini-labs where you will be able to get hands-on experience with process technologies in short, action packed sessions of 20 minutes duration.

You will gain hands-on experience in the following:

  • Troubleshoot a simple industrial type TCP/IP network using simple utilities commonly available
  • Gain real experience in troubleshooting a simple Modbus and TCP/IP network with a protocol analyser
  • Tune a Flow process loop which uses PID (proportional, integral and derivative) control
  • Tune a temperature loop which uses PID (proportional, integral and derivative) control
  • Program in ladderlogic and test out a PLC for a simple sequential program - Session 5
  • Access and configure an ultrasonic Level Detector for a tank a few thousand kms away

A limited number of PCs will be available and allocated to groups who will undertake these tasks in a fun and supportive learning environment, with an enthusiastic instructor and your industry peers.

No matter how inexperienced or how advanced you are, we can guarantee that you will learn a few extra skills and enjoy the experience too.

In addition to the above mini-labs, two regular, but consistently popular presentation courses will also run each day:

  1. Best Practice in Arc Flash Protection for Australian Conditions - What it is and how to deal with it.
  2. Best Practice in Surge Protection and Lightning Mitigation for Electrical and Instrumentation

IDC Technologies is internationally recognised as the premier provider of practical, technical training for engineers and technicians. IDC Technologies specialises in the fields of industrial data communications, telecommunications and automation and control and is continually adding to its portfolio of over 100 different workshops.
