Honeywell Process Solutions will showcase the latest developments in process automation and controls at the 2014 Honeywell Users Group (HUG) Asia-Pacific Symposium, to be held on the Gold Coast in Queensland from 21-23 September. Celebrating 25 years of HUG in the Asia-Pacific area, this year’s event will attract nearly 100 industry representatives, who will discuss best practice in process control and new methods for technology implementation.

Taking the theme of ‘KNOWLEDGE’, HUG offers an interactive three-day program with hands-on demonstrations, presentations, panel discussions, breakout sessions and networking opportunities. Honeywell will also exhibit its latest technology releases to meet the needs of customers across the region, including the Experion Orion Console, RTU2020 Remote Terminal Unit and new additions to its flagship Intuition Executive platform, such as Operations Logbook Release 100.

“The Asia-Pacific region has significant growth potential but unique needs and challenges,” said Andrew Hird, Vice President, Sales, Honeywell Process Solutions. “HUG is the ideal forum for Honeywell, customers and industry experts to come together to share experiences and best practice, particularly as the energy landscape evolves and there is increased pressure to reduce costs while maintaining safety, reliability and efficiency.”

HUG Asia-Pacific will offer the first local demonstration of LEAP, Honeywell’s innovative approach to lean project execution, which helps companies more quickly design, build and start up plants through a combination of HPS’s proprietary hardware and software, virtualisation and cloud engineering tools.

Honeywell will also announce the winner of its 2014 Asia-Pacific Unisim Design Challenge, an annual competition giving chemical engineering students across the region the chance to solve real-world problems through interactive process modelling. The winning student and their lecturer will receive paid travel and accommodation to HUG, where they will have the opportunity to present the project to conference delegates, attend presentations and network with potential employers.

The 2014 Honeywell Users Group Asia-Pacific will take place at Surfers Paradise Marriott Resort & Spa in Queensland. Learn more about the event by visiting the 2014 HUG Asia-Pacific website.
