Premier endorses oil and gas expo
West Australian Premier Colin Barnett has endorsed the 2009 Australasian Oil & Gas Exhibition (AOG), due to be held at the Perth Convention Exhibition Centre from 17 to 19 February.
AOG 2009 is expected to be the largest oil and gas exhibition ever held in the Southern Hemisphere, with more than 300 local and international exhibitors from countries including China, Germany, Norway, the US and the UK.
In a statement, Barnett encouraged participation in the event and invited companies to be part of Western Australia's ongoing success in the oil and gas industry.
"Western Australia is Australia's pre-eminent oil and gas state, accounting in 2007–08 for about 70% of the nation's crude oil, condensate and gas production (including LNG) and valued at more than $19.4 billion," said Barnett.
"Expansion of the petroleum sector is a key part of Western Australia's future and opportunities to be part of it are immense."
AOG 2009 will provide a platform for companies to exhibit new projects and technologies for applications such as oil and gas production, exploration, engineering, construction, subsea and much more.
The event will coincide with the Society for Underwater Technology 1st Annual Subsea Conference.
