Australian invention wins export accolades
Global EARS, a Melbourne-based company, has won the Small Business Export Award at the Australian Export Awards.
Australian invention EARS (the Exhausted Air Recycling System) is an air compressor technology that allows a safer work environment and lower costs. It has been successfully commercialised and exported globally.
Typical compressors waste air through the exhaust, but EARS uses a closed loop system to return the wasted air back to the compressor. This compresses more air and is claimed to cut energy consumption under continuous use by 40%.
Removing the exhaust air results in less blown dust and debris in a workshop, as well as a reduction in the noise generated in the use of pneumatic tools, like air drills.
