IICA Sydney Tech Night: 3D Printing — Yesterday, Today, Tomorrow

The IICA Tech Night will focus on 3D printing and attempt to dispel the hype associated with these emerging technologies. Introduced 30 years ago, 3D printing has become an enabling technology, another tool available to designers and manufacturers, which challenges many ‘design for manufacture’ principles.
This presentation will cover the fundamentals of the processes, raise discussion points for strength validation of parts, inspection of printed items and how additive manufacture change be adopted into current manufacturing rather than looking at additive as a standalone process.
