Advantech has announced the release of its first wireless Internet camera, the ADAM-6090. Designed to provide a simple and low-cost solution for remote monitoring applications, the ADAM-6090 transmits high quality video images via a wired or wireless network.

Advantech's ADAM-6090 camera is a standalone system with a built-in CPU, and can be managed, accessed and controlled remotely from any PC/Notebook over the Internet or intranet via a standard web browser. Equipped with a built-in 802.11b PCMCIA card the ADAM-6090 supports both wired and wireless networks offering the advantages of mobility, flexibility and high-speed LAN technology.

The ADAM-6090 does not require any special hardware or software such as PC frame grabber cards. Additionally, it allows remote configuration via a standard web browser, so administrators can easily configure and manage the ADAM-6090 directly via the Internet or intranet, and issue and control up to 64 user names and passwords.

Administrators can also remotely modify camera settings and upgrade firmware via the Internet.

Equipped with four I/O ports, the ADAM-6090 offers the flexibility to connect to a number of external devices such as IR-sensors, switches and alarm relays. Supporting both Active X mode and Java mode for Internet Explorer, its simple installation procedures and web-based interface offer users easy integration into networked applications.
