At the Drill 2008 conference in New Zealand, compressor technology group Sullair Australia explored the crucial role of compressed-air solutions in keeping Australian and New Zealand drillers online.

Presented by Ian Tessmann, Sullair Australia marketing manager-construction and mining, the address highlighted how air-compressor design, engineering and manufacture can optimise a range of demanding drilling and exploration applications.

Tessmann covered a number of key areas, reminding attendees of the importance of market feedback and its influence on driving change across the drilling industry. He also discussed the necessary processes that need to be in place to achieve this change.

He went on to describe the importance of establishing and maintaining long-lasting relationships with OEMs, giving examples of how Sullair works with the drilling and exploration sector to design customised compressed air solutions.

Tessmann also outlined Sullair Australia's collaborations with drill contractors and how the compressed-air specialist tailors service and training programs to specific client requirements on or off site.

He concluded by looking ahead to the future of the drilling and exploration sector, highlighting the importance of the development of compressed-air solutions designed to match these emerging applications.
