Wind speed and direction transducers

A wide range of wind monitoring transducers by Mierij Meteo is now available. The range includes models suitable for most applications where wind speed and direction need to be monitored.

The WS-067 anemometer and WS-660 wind vane are rugged models designed for harsh applications. Built of marine-grade aluminium, the transducers are available with 4-20 mA outputs or with a pulse output (wind speed) and 4-20 mA (wind direction).

The WS-MM-444 (wind vane) and the WS-MM-444 (anemometer) are economical wind sensors made from UV-stabilised plastic. The anemometer gives a pulse output proportional to the wind speed and the wind vane gives a 4-bit Gray Code defining the wind direction.

The WS-MMW-005 is a solid-state wind sensor that derives the wind speed and direction from the minute temperature variation of the airflow across its sensor. Because the WS-MMW-005 has no moving parts, it can be used in challenging situations. Output is an NMEA serial data string that is suitable for interfacing with many display and monitoring products.
