Hirschmann managed industrial ethernet switches

Tuesday, 01 July, 2008 | Supplied by: Daanet Pty Ltd

Hirschmann has released two managed industrial ethernet switches — a Fast (model RSR20) and a Gigabit Ethernet version (RSR30). Featuring a metal case and redundant power supplies (DC/DC or AC/DC mix), they are designed to provide extremely high EMI resistance.

Together with the MACH1000 rackmount switch, these switches provide a solution in environments with high electromagnetic stress such as power substations, along railway lines and heavy industry.

The Hirschmann RSR range includes all the features expected of a high-end network switch, as well as the full range of redundancy options — RSTP, redundant ring topology, link aggregation and the latest fast-recovery HiPER-Ring protocol, with a guaranteed recovery time of less than 10 m for mission-critical connectivity.

Security features include VLAN, Port Security (both MAC and IP), SNMP V3 and 802.1x authentication. Diagnostic ability is provided through port mirroring, remote monitoring, log file, relay signal contacts and the Industrial HiVision network management software, featuring network topology discovery using LLDP (link layer discovery protocol) to provide fast visual identification of active network connections.
