MPL TX2FX data diode

The MPL TX2FX can be used as a data diode. To use the TX2FX in this way, two TX2FX-12C2 units are required, one acting as transmitter the other as receiver. This solution offers a unidirectional data transfer of up to 1 Gb available on standard RJ45 copper ports. The complete solution can be used as an open frame version or built into a CEC housing.

Data diodes are commonly found in high-security military and government environments and are now becoming widespread in sectors like oil and gas, water/wastewater, aircraft (between flight control units and in-flight entertainment systems), manufacturing and cloud connectivity for industrial IoT.

The hardware enforces physical unidirectionality, and the software replicates databases and emulates protocol servers to handle bidirectional communication. Data diodes are capable of transferring multiple protocols and data types simultaneously. A unique characteristic is that data is transferred deterministically (to predetermined locations) with a protocol ‘break’ that allows the data to be transferred one-way through the data diode.
