Advantech EKI-3000 series unmanaged ethernet switches

The EKI-3000 series unmanaged ‘light industrial’ ethernet switches are 5- and an 8-port ethernet switches in both 10/100 and gigabit versions. They offer dedicated priority ports, up to 60% reduction in power consumption and smart diagnostics, making them suitable for a wide range of industrial automation functions.

Priority ports prioritise the traffic coming over those ports and delay the less immediately necessary data over the remaining ports. This is useful for high bandwidth applications such as video streaming where latency would cause problems. Smart diagnostic functions provide a way to discover a fault on the system without painstaking port analysis.

In energy-sensitive applications where power consumption is a factor, these switches come with advanced power-saving functions that save up to 60% on power consumption by shutting down ports that have no link and by budgeting power based on the length of the ethernet cable.  This is part of the IEEE 802.3az Energy Efficient Standard.

Gigabit ethernet provides users with the fastest possible data transmission speeds for high-definition video streaming and the ability to sustain constantly high traffic loads in the EKI-3725 and EKI-2728 models. For applications that don’t require the benefits of gigabit ethernet but still want the priority ports, energy saving and quick diagnostics, Advantech has the EKI-3525 and 3528 models which have 10/100 Mbps ports.
