Turck IMX12 series intriniscally safe interfaces

Turck’s IMX12 interface series is an intrinsically safe line of devices that offers maximum signal density within a 12.5 mm housing.

The isolated barriers and analog signal isolators were designed for speed, accuracy and flexibility, to improve precision of signal processing. The devices can be used for digital input or output signals in functional safety circuits up to SIL2 and carry IEC-Ex approvals. These solutions are suitable to meet the challenges of the process industry, especially the chemical, pharmaceutical and oil and gas sectors.

The IMX12-DI Ex-isolating switching amplifier resolves input frequencies of up to 15 kHz, which were previously only possible with special frequency transducers. The electronic design of the IMX12-AI Ex analog signal isolator reduces the effects of factors such as temperature or voltage fluctuations. The IMX12 series can be used in a range of 10–30 VDC.

Also part of this series is the IMX12-CCM (cabinet condition monitoring) cabinet guard. The device continuously monitors the actual degree of protection, from ambient variables such as temperature and absolute humidity to closure of the cabinet, and indicates any limit value violations directly to the control system.
