The SOM-4430 module, a super low-power SoC (system on chip) ETX CPU solution, uses Advantech’s super low-power EVA-X4300 SoC to provide a balance between computing performance and power saving with a minimum power consumption of less than 5 W. The SOM-4430 follows the ETX standard form factor but has better anti-vibration properties due to its onboard soldered memory. Application-specific carrier boards allow embedded integrators to focus on their own application features, saving up to 80% of overall design and development effort.

The EVA-X4300 SoC has CPU, North and South bridges included for optimum performance and space efficiency. SOM-4430 offers great compatibility and I/O capacity with four USB 2.0 ports, VGA, TTL LCD, two COM ports and an IDE interface, and with full ETX compatibility, PCI and ISA are fully supported. SOM-4430 has 64 or 128 MB of memory soldered directly onto the board for better anti-vibration properties, making it suitable for harsh environments and applications such as factory automation, data collection and device control.

SOM-4430 provides full legacy ISA support, making it a suitable replacement where a low power consumption ETX CPU module is required. All SOM-ETX boards are compliant with the European Union RoHS directives for more environmentally friendly manufacturing and recycling. SOM-4430 is a scalable solution that lowers design and development costs, reducing overall total cost of ownership and increasing time-to-market delivery.
