Schneider Electric will be participating in the upcoming Cisco Live event, taking place on 7–10 March in Melbourne. During the event, which will be held at the Melbourne Convention & Exhibition Centre (MCEC), a number of Schneider Electric executives will be presenting on topics such as operational technology (OT) and information technology (IT) integration, and the Internet of Things (IoT).

Schneider Electric will be presenting at two sessions during the event. The first, titled Enabling IT/OT integration with Innovation at Every Level’ will take place on Wednesday, 8 March at 8.30 am in Room 218. This session will be presented by Adam Wilkinson, National Application Manager – Data Centres, IoT and Edge Computing, and Bill Adamopoulos, State Sales Manager – Process Automation & Software – VIC/TAS/SA/NT.

Wilkinson and Adamopoulos will examine how OT and IT can be effectively integrated and how the IoT and the OT/IT convergence is enabling companies to achieve productivity gains. Case study examples will be provided where this has already been realised through an approach reflecting the theme of Innovation at Every Level — from connected products to edge control, and from services to software, both on premise and in the cloud.

The second session to be presented by Schneider Electric is titled ‘IT/OT convergence and Industrial IoT: How can you drive productivity and avoid pitfalls’ and will take place on Wednesday, 8 March at 12.00 noon at Think Tank #3. This will be presented by Technical Solutions Consultant Kien Mac, along with Adam Wilkinson and Bill Adamopoulos.

The session will explore how OT and IT systems can work together to maximise business productivity, while still avoiding risks and pitfalls in the process. There will be opportunity to discuss case study examples of technologies that enable IT/OT convergence along with challenges surrounding IT/OT integration due to the IoT and big data.
