FSE Global to provide inspection body services for safety systems

Monday, 27 September, 2010

FSE Global has recently entered an agreement that sees FSE Inspection Body Services able to provide inspection body services, and have certification officially issued as a NATA Accredited Inspection Body under ISO 17020.

Around the world, there is a growing requirement for safety systems and products to be certified as compliant with the relevant safety standards. Certification is tangible and traceable evidence that safety systems or products meet the global standards in safety. FSE Inspection Body Services will offer these services to clients and provide the consulting services required to collect the evidence needed for the certification process.

A Certification Body certifies that a product or system complies with a particular standard(s). An Inspection Body can do what a Certification Body can do, but in addition can offer certification where only an opinion is required (more than a point-by-point checklist against a standard), and includes many of the functional safety standards.

Among the services offered by FSE are:

  • Design validation under AS/IEC 61508 Functional Safety
  • Inspection and Certification under AS 1755 (particular importance for Australian mining industry);
  • AS/IEC 61511 - Functional Safety for Process Industry
  • All parts of AS 4024 (Aust/NZ applicable)
  • IEC60204-1 (and USA equiv NFPA 79)

  • EMC Assessments (Emissions/Immunity) - including for general and specific industrial environments
  • ISO 10218-1 Robots
  • EU Machine Compliance Directive
  • Risk assessment and SIL/PL determination
  • SEMI S2, S22 and associated parts
  • SEMI S8 - Ergonomics for safety
  • ISO 22201 (Lift Control Systems)
  • EN 50156-1 Furnace Control Systems
  • ISO 26262 - Automotive Functional Safety
