TÜV Functional Safety Certification Courses

Honeywell Process Solutions is hosting TÜV Functional Safety Courses across Australia.

During the four-day, interactive course, participants will learn how to design, implement and maintain emergency shutdown and safety systems in accordance with the latest IEC/AS61508 and IEC/AS61511 standards. In addition, the courses will address how to determine the right number of redundant safety channels to minimise cost while ensuring safety and plant availability.

ABB 2010 Technology Roadshow

The ABB 2010 Technology Roadshow will present the most recent discrete automation and low-voltage technologies, and will have 18 seminar topics presented by ABB’s specialists explaining how technologies can easily be applied across industry sectors, to improve operating productivity and performance, while reducing costs.

MathWorks Australia Energy Tour

MathWorks Australia will host its Energy Tour this September, catering to the energy industry. The tour will show solutions being applied by industry professionals to address challenges created by the rapidly evolving energy landscape.

The focus will be on how MATLAB and Simulink are being used by engineers, scientists and analysts in the Australian energy industry to evaluate energy resources, develop systems for power generation and distribution, model energy markets, and optimise operational and trading strategies based on rapidly increasing volumes of data.

Industry expert Dr Graham Dudgeon, currently the Energy Production Marketing Manager at MathWorks, will be visiting Australia from Boston to speak at the events on topics including grid technologies using modelling and simulation, and the performance of solar and wind farms, as well as deliver the keynotes at each. Also speaking at the event are local experts Bradley Horton, Application Engineering Team Manager, and David Willingham, Senior Engineer in the energy sector in Australia.
